Man charged after Victorian party stabbing

A man has been charged with the attempted murder of another man who was stabbed 11 times at a party in Melbourne.

A Hallam man, 29, is expected to face Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Monday charged with attempted murder and intentionally causing serious injury.

The victim, 24, was allegedly chased by two men, stabbed and left in a gutter outside a party in Noble Park on October 1, 2016.

He needed emergency surgery and a significant stint in intensive care to recover.

He still bears multiple scars on his upper body, police say.

Police have twice publicly appealed for witnesses, with detectives most recently speaking to media three weeks ago.
