Man charged after SA crossbow shooting

A man has been charged after a woman was shot in the leg with a crossbow in Adelaide's north.

The woman was found by police and paramedics with an leg injury after being shot by the crossbow before 5pm on Monday.

The 27-year-old man left the scene after the incident but went to hospital on Tuesday afternoon with an injury and was later arrested and charged.

The Parafield Gardens man was charged with aggravated assault causing harm and two counts of possessing prohibited weapons after police allegedly found nunchucks and a crossbow at his home.

The pair are known to each other and the man has been bailed to appear in court on September 8.
