Man charged with murder after Vic assault

A man has been charged with murder after the fatal assault of another man who was found lying on a road in a regional Victorian town.

A 43-year-old victim was found with serious head injuries in Rosedale on Tuesday night and flown to Melbourne, where he died on Wednesday morning.

Detectives have charged a 37-year-old man with the murder.

He is expected to face the Sale Magistrates' Court on Wednesday afternoon.

The victim and his accused killer knew each other, police believe.
