Man arrested following Melbourne siege

A man is in police custody after barricading himself and another person inside a suburban Melbourne hotel, police say.

Specialist officers were called to the hotel in Beach Street at Frankston just before 11am on Tuesday following reports a man had locked himself and another inside a room and was behaving erratically.

The Frankston man has since been taken to hospital under police guard and his victim was physically uninjured.

The area surrounding the hotel was cordoned off while police investigate.
