Log truck drivers intimidating: activists

A group of environmental activists, who have been knitting on the roadside while monitoring logging trucks in Victoria, have contacted police after saying they've been intimidated by speeding drivers.

The group, Knitting Nannas of Toolangi, photograph trucks leaving the Toolangi State Forest to record how many logs are leaving the area.

They say the drivers have been deliberately trying to intimidate them by speeding past and spraying them with dust.

"This logging truck rounded the corner, sending a young child running frightened for his life and covering us all in dust," the group said on their Facebook page.

In response to Facebook posts about the incident, a person, who the group suspect is a logger, posted a picture of a giant log on the back of a truck with "hug this" spray painted on it.

The group says VicForests advised them to contact police, which they have done.
