Polls put Labor in front for Vic election

Two new polls show, with under a month to go, the ALP is set to win the Victorian election.

The Herald Sun/Galaxy opinion poll shows Labor holding a two-party preferred lead of 52-48 per cent over the coalition ahead of the November 29 ballot.

Similarly, a Morgan Poll conducted on the weekend shows the ALP leading at 52.5-47.5 per cent on a two-party preferred basis.

But the polls show the coalition leading the opposition in the primary vote and Premier Denis Napthine as the preferred leader over opposition leader Daniel Andrews.

Dr Napthine said the coalition was the underdog in the campaign to win the election.

"We're happy to be the underdog," he said.
