Koalas culled in Victoria's southwest

Animal officers have started culling sick koalas in Victoria's southwest.
The Department of Environment is checking the health of a large koala colony in the Cape Otway region, which has stripped gum trees bare of leaves and caused starvation.
On Wednesday, the third day of the week-long operation, the department announced 76 koalas had been assessed so far, with 13 euthanised after being found ill and 63 released.
