Search underway for kitten stolen from cage at Melbourne vet

A three-month-old kitten has been stolen from a vet in Heidleberg, in Melbourne’s north-east.

Police said a woman, believed to be aged around 45, entered the store on Cape Street about 11am last Friday.

She allegedly looked at the other animals for sale in the vet, before stealing the kitten from a cage.

The kitten is three months old, ginger and white in colour and is microchipped, police said.

The alleged offender is described as having a Caucasian appearance with dyed red hair and tattooed shoulders.
