THE MURDER

* Killed by a gunshot to the head.

* Suspected date of death February 28, 2002.

* Body found on March 15, 2002.

* Dumped in grassland 10m from Mount Dandenong Tourist Road, Kalorama.

* Body was badly decomposed, and was identified using DNA.

* Had been reported missing by family and friends.

THE INVESTIGATION

* It's believed there were up to three killers.

* There was a suspected meeting with a heroin supplier in Croydon at 10pm.

* A phone call was received from a pay phone at Mooroolbark KFC at 10.10pm, but the caller is unknown.

* $100,000 reward was offered in 2009.

* Police have applied to increase the reward, and it could rise to $1 million.

KADE'S LIFE

* Grew up in Croydon, and became a ward of the state.

* Lived at home on and off.

* Older sister Tamsin, two nieces and a nephew.

* Qualified gardener, dreamt of opening a landscape business.
