Jealous lover jailed for Vic ute murder
JEALOUS LOVER JAILED FOR MURDER:
* GUILTY: Janice Bufton murdered her 70-year-old lover Colin Snooks with his ute in regional Victoria
* VERDICT: A Supreme Court jury rejected her argument that the death was a tragic accident
* PUNISHMENT: The 68-year-old has been jailed for 24 years and must serve at least 18. Has already served nearly two years in pre-sentence detention.
* DETAILS: Furious that Mr Snooks was leaving her and jealous of an ongoing relationship with his ex-wife, Bufton pinched the keys to his Holden ute before driving at him, hitting him, and crushing him beneath the wheels in October 2017 at her Fyans Creek property in Victoria's west
* QUOTE: "You allowed your extreme and quite unjustified state of anger to well up and move you to a shocking and senseless crime" - Justice Andrew Tinney
