Investigation into Melb incinerator fire

Worksafe will investigate a fire in an incinerator shed at a Melbourne medical waste disposal facility.

The incinerator and the piping, wiring and infrastructure around it caught fire at Steri Health in Laverton North, just before 4pm on Wednesday.

The equipment, used to burn medical waste, was inside an 8m by 30m metal shed and took 26 firefighters an hour to bring under control.
