A purpose-built rehabilitation facility to help those addicted to the drug ice could be built in Geelong, Victorian Treasurer Tim Pallas says.

Like many regional towns across the country, greater Geelong is struggling to cope with the ice epidemic and the community is calling for a rehab centre to be built in the area.

During his visit to Geelong on Friday, Mr Pallas said the government would look at spending some of the $45.5 million allocated in the budget for an ice action plan to build a facility for drug addicts.
