Hunt for driver after man left for dead in car park hit-run
A manhunt is under way for a hit-run driver after a man was mowed down in a Melbourne car park in front of dozens of shoppers, in what is suspected to be a targeted attack.
CCTV footage shows a man in high-vis crossing the car park at Merrifield Shopping Centre just before 7.30pm on Monday.

The victim stalled momentarily after he noticed a grey Mitsubishi Lancer hurtling towards him, before trying to sprint out of the car’s path.
The car veered towards the victim and struck him, and then sped off.
The victim, a 34-year-old Mickleham man, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
The male driver of the car has been described as Caucasian and wearing a green, fluorescent top.
Detectives believe those involved are known to each other.
Investigators wish to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who recognises the car or the driver.
Locals say it’s remarkable no one else was injured, as the precinct is typically packed with people at that time of night.
“I’ve got no words for it, hey, it’s just disgraceful,” co-owner of nearby restaurant Tandoori Joint Mickey Gudwani said.
“We usually get busy around five, 5.30, so pretty much all our seats are full around 6 onwards.
“We have a lot of kids here, cause it’s a family restaurant ... after that incident it just feels like it’s not safe for the kids to go out.”
