Hunt for armed bandits after Vic robbery

Two masked bandits who threatened staff at a Melbourne fast-food restaurant may have held up a second outlet shortly after.

The duo, armed with knives, emptied the register of cash and fled the Springvale South eatery in a stolen getaway car just after 9pm on Monday.

Investigators believe the same men may have robbed another restaurant in Heatherton 45 minutes later.

In that incident, two masked men directed staff to the rear of the store while they emptied tills at the front and in the drive-through area.

They sped off in a small silver hatchback.
