Hunt continues for Vic murderer

Police are still hunting for a man who fatally stabbed another in the neck on a South Melbourne footpath on Friday night.

The badly injured man was found lying on a Clarendon Street footpath just after 11pm on Friday.

The 40-year-old was rushed to hospital but died on arrival.

A female friend of the victim witnessed the attack and is assisting homicide squad detectives with their investigation.

Police are treating his death as suspicious and say that they are confident they can identify his attacker after viewing CCTV footage of the area.
