Homeless man charged over Melbourne creek body murder

A homeless man has been charged with murder after the body of a man said to have suffered a "vicious assault" was found in a Melbourne creek.
The body of a Caucasian man thought to be aged in his late 40s or early 50s was found by a passerby at Kororoit Creek yesterday morning.
Police said it was not clear what sort of weapon, if any, had caused the victim's injuries, but that he had suffered a "vicious assault" at around 6am.
Homicide Squad detectives later said they were searching for a man spotted on CCTV changing clothes and holding a plastic bag.
A 32-year-old of no fixed address was arrested yesterday afternoon in Sunshine and is set to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court later today.
