Help for horses during Vic bushfires
AAP
NED is here to help horses during Victorian bushfires.
A CFA volunteer has developed the National Equine Database, known as NED, which will link up horse owners with people who have land that horses can be moved to if a bushfire breaks.
Horse owners can then establish what to do with their horses as part of their bushfire survival plan - well before the need to evacuate.

"Moving large animals from harm's way isn't always possible during the chaos of a fire," CFA volunteer Jenna Kelley, who developed the database, said in a statement.
"That's why planning ahead, and knowing your trigger to move before fire breaks out, is the best option."
