Gun found in stolen BMW in Melbourne

Thieves are on the run after smashing a stolen BMW containing a rifle into three parked cars in Melbourne.
Police saw the car in Northcote around 2am on Thursday and tried to stop it before the driver sped off.
The BMW subsequently smashed into three parked cars on Clarke Street causing extensive damage, before the occupants fled the scene.
