Greens concede, Feeney thanks Batman

Labor MP David Feeney has put up a billboard saying "Thank you Batman" after he won the Melbourne seat in a tight race against the Greens.

Green candidate Alex Bhathal - who was the Greens' main hope for getting a second lower house seat - conceded the race on Tuesday morning.

"The close result has laid the foundations for the Greens at the next election and ensured that we in Batman will no longer be taken for granted," Ms Bhathal said.
