Geelong flood victims get government funds

Geelong residents affected by January's once-in-a-century storm can now apply for government assistance.
The federal and state governments announced on Thursday that payments for adults and children for food, shelter and clothes, and grants up to $32,500 per eligible household for clean-up, emergency accommodation, repairs, rebuilding and replacing damaged possessions.
The storm dumped more than a month's rain on Greater Geelong, flooding buildings, trapping motorists and sparking hundreds of calls for help.
