Four injured as car hits pole, car in Vic

Four people are seriously injured after a car smashed into a pole and oncoming traffic in Victoria.
A 39-year-old man lost control of his car while travelling along Ferntree Gully Road in Melbourne's outer east on Friday night, hitting a pole and crashing into an oncoming car, police say.
He is in a serious condition in hospital, while a 30-year-old woman in the oncoming car suffered life-threatening injuries and her two passengers were also injured.
