Former bikie enforcer seeks bail
Former Bandidos enforcer Toby Mitchell is seeking to be released on bail after he was arrested and charged with threatening to kill a man and his baby daughter if he did not hand over $300,000.
Mitchell allegedly punched the man in the face on Saturday when they met in South Melbourne to discuss a loan Mitchell was seeking.
A police informant told Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Wednesday the man had felt threatened and intimated by Mitchell and did not want to loan him the money.
When he told the ex-bikie he was unable to access the $300,000 Mitchell allegedly threatened to shoot the man and his baby.
The man reported the incident to police on Saturday and Mitchell was arrested and charged.
Prosecutors opposed his application for bail saying he posed an unacceptable risk to the public.
The hearing continues.
