A homicide investigation is under way after a woman was found dead in her bedroom in Melbourne’s inner-city.

The body of the 73-year-old was discovered inside a property on Brooks Crescent in Fitzroy North about 1am on Saturday.

The woman was found in her bed by members of her family, who are understood to have been trying to get in touch with her for several days.

The woman, a Vietnamese migrant, was last seen outside her home on Tuesday on her way to an appointment.

Her cause of death remains unknown.

Neighbour John described the woman as a “nice lady” who did not have any enemies. Nine

Homicide Squad detectives are now investigating the woman’s death, which police have described as suspicious.

Neighbours told 9News the woman was experiencing health issues.

“She was a nice lady. And I don’t think she had any enemies or anything like that,” neighbour John said.
