A fire that raged through more than 100 hectares of grassland in Melbourne's northwest and damaged a home has been declared safe.

The CFA on Sunday released the all-clear message, meaning people located in Bulla, Diggers Rest and Calder Park can resume normal activities.

Firefighters controlled the blaze late on Saturday afternoon after earlier issuing an evacuation order.

A house in the path of the fire sustained low-level damage and a shed is thought to have also been damaged, a CFA spokesman said.

Firefighters are expected to continue monitoring the area on Sunday, though rain is forecast for much of the afternoon.

Two massive Aircrane helicopters and two smaller choppers were used to attack the fire from the air on Saturday, while 34 trucks and 150 firefighters worked on the ground.
