Fire damages Vic waterfront restaurant

A waterfront restaurant on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula has been badly damaged by fire.

Country Fire Authority crews were called to The Baths at Sorrento about 8.15pm on Sunday to find the weatherboard building well alight.

"It's probably fair to say that it's been severely damaged," a CFA spokesman told AAP.

The restaurant was closed at the time of the blaze.

There are no injuries and firefighters remain on the scene.
