Fire at Melbourne timber factory

Machinery at a Melbourne timber factory has gone up in flames.

Workers noticed smoke coming from a timber machine at the Sunshine North factory on Monday night and eight people were evacuated.

Firefighters used thermal imaging cameras to detect fires within the extensive duct system and it took two hours to bring the blaze under control, an MFB spokesman told AAP.
