New Year's Eve tragedy after house fire kills man

A man has died in a New Year's Eve tragedy after a house fire in Victoria.
Police and emergency services were called to a property this morning in Monbulk, a town about 42km east of Melbourne.
The fire started at the property on Monbulk-Olinda Road just after 4am.

A man's body was discovered inside the home.
At this stage, the identity of the deceased has not been confirmed.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined and the investigation is ongoing.
