Energy company, CFMEU in strike dispute

Energy company AGL wants the Fair Work Commission to increase the notice period the CFMEU must give before workers strike at the Loy Yang power station in Victoria's east.

The union lodged a protected industrial action application in March for 24-hour strikes to be allowed with three days notice, but AGL argues it needs a longer notification period because of the potential for the state's energy supply to be disrupted.

The full bench of the commission started hearing the dispute in Melbourne on Thursday morning.
