* Overcharging may heat the battery and cause fire

* Five brands recalled due to non-compliant chargers and cords

* Packaging should have the Australian Regulatory Compliance Mark, a tick surrounded by a triangle

* Russell Crowe lashed out at Virgin Australia because he was banned from boarding with his kids' hoverboards

* Other airlines have banned them on flights, including Qantas, Jetstar, Air New Zealand, Emirates, Malaysia Airlines and carriers in the US
