Cyclist hurt in crash with street sweeper

A cyclist is in critical condition after a collision in suburban Melbourne.

The 30-year-old Hawthorn man is believed to have fallen and become trapped under a street sweeper on Victoria Street in Abbotsford just at midnight.

He has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the street sweeper, who was unhurt, stopped at the scene to assist.
