A Melbourne drug and alcohol counsellor is facing criminal corruption charges after allegedly providing false information to courts in support of bail applications and sentencing.

The 69-year-old man from Keilor Lodge is due to face Melbourne Magistrates Court on Tuesday afternoon on multiple charges including perjury, perverting the course of justice, theft and drug trafficking.

"The charges follow an IBAC investigation ... into allegations that an employee of St Paul's Prevention Rehabilitation, a registered charity based in Strathmore, has been providing false information to support bail applications and sentences by the court," the state's corruption watchdog said in a statement.
