Victoria has continued its streak of no new coronavirus cases and no deaths today.

It has now been 29 days since the state last recorded a new case, meaning that the virus is considered to be eliminated.

Elimination of the virus is defined by epidemiologists as 28 days without new infections or mystery cases in the community.

There are now no active cases across Victoria and no cases with an unknown source.

It comes after the border with Tasmania reopened yesterday after months of the borders being tightly shut.

"It is great to see that the movement of people between Tasmania and Victoria has recommenced," Transport Minister Jacinta Allan said yesterday.

The borders with Queensland and South Australia are also set to reopen on Monday, December 1.

However, the Victorian Government has not yet confirmed when it will open its border to South Australia.
