Concern as Vic power sub-station sparks

A Woolworths supermarket has been evacuated in regional Victoria after a nearby high voltage sub-station started sparking.

Electricity distribution company Powercor Australia is at the Torquay site, trying to isolate power so fire crews can extinguish any sparks from the 22,000-volt sub-station.

A Country Fire Authority spokeswoman said their crews arrived just after 1pm and are expected to be there until about 3.30pm.
