The mother of a teenage boy whose stepfather bashed him to death with a hammer is seeking compensation from the convicted killer in a Melbourne court.
John Xypolitos was jailed for 27 years in 2013 after being found guilty of 17-year-old Gary Adams' murder and cutting up his corpse with a hacksaw.
The Victorian Supreme Court on Thursday heard Gary's mother Jo-Ann Adams was seeking compensation from Xypolitos before the matter was adjourned for a directions hearing on August 14.
