Cold, wet Anzac Day forecast for Victoria

Cold, wet weather is likely to greet hundreds of thousands of Victorians attending Anzac Day services on Saturday.

A cold front will begin crossing Victoria on Friday, bringing a fresh burst of cold winds and possible showers on Saturday morning, Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Dean Stewart says.

"It looks like it will be another cold weekend coming up," he says.

"The front comes across on Friday then the cold air behind the front will move across the state on the weekend.

"It looks like there will be a low pressure system passing just to the south of the state, so it looks like pretty cold conditions across the weekend and potentially a cold and damp Anzac Day dawn service."
