Child's body found in regional Victoria home

A child has died in suspicious circumstances in regional Victoria.

Homicide detectives are on their way to Wangaratta, where the child's body was discovered in a house shortly before noon on Sunday, police said.

The child's next of kin are being notified.

At this stage police have not released details of the child's age or gender.
