CFMEU's records to stay private

Fair Work Building and Construction's attempt to access a union's membership records has been quashed by the Fair Work Commission.
The commission's general manager in January authorised the FWBC to inspect CFMEU membership records for investigations into possible industrial breaches.
But the CFMEU in Melbourne appealed against the decision and the full bench of the commission quashed the order this week finding the general manager exceeded the powers available to her under industrial law.
