Two vehicles flip as winds hit Tasmania

Strong winds in Tasmania have caused two vehicles to flip in Hobart, including a caravan.

Police believe no one was injured when the caravan flipped on Bridgewater Bridge on Sunday.

"It is believed strong wind has caused the caravan to flip over," they said in a statement.

It comes hours after winds caused a car to come off the road on the outskirts of Hobart.

The driver, a woman, received only minor injuries when winds pushed her small car into an embankment, causing it to flip, on the Huon Highway in Kingston.

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a warning for strong westerly winds on Sunday and Monday across the King Island and Furneaux Island, and parts of the North East, The Midlands, and Upper Derwent Valley.

Gale force winds are also forecast along the North Coast, Banks Strait and Franklin Sound, east of Flinders Island, and the South Coast.
