Car crashes into childcare centre in Melbourne's south-west

Staff and children have luckily escaped injury after a car crashed into a childcare centre in Melbourne's south-west.

Emergency services were called to the Goodstart Early Learning Centre on Morris Road, Hoppers Crossing, about 4.30pm.

The two-car crash caused a Toyota Camry displaying L-plates to drive through the playground and into the building.

A pregnant woman was checked by paramedics, and was taken to hospital suffering shock. She is in a stable condition.

Paramedics have commended staff for safely removing around 30 children from the building, taking them to safety across the road.

The car has caused significant structural damage to the child care centre.
