Bring her your old mobile phone, say her Melbourne Zoo keepers, who are calling out for donations to help little Kanzi's wild cousins in Rwanda.

The western lowland gorilla's milestone on Thursday will be used to charge up a campaign for recycled old mobile phones.

The phones can help by being sold back to manufacturers to fund veterinary care for gorillas in the wild, as well as reduce demand for a mineral illegally mined in gorilla habitat.
