Victims of a freak asthma thunderstorm event in Victoria have been asked to share their experiences with an official review of the emergency response.

The storm on November 21 and 22 put 8500 in hospital with asthma and killed eight people. Health Minister Jill Hennessy said the impact on the health system was like 150 bombs going off at once.

The Inspector-General for Emergency Management has asked for public submissions as part of a review into how the emergency services responded to the storm.
