Runaway bus crashes into busy Melbourne hair salon

A runaway bus has crashed through the wall of a Melbourne hair salon filled with customers getting their hair done.

The empty bus was parked at a Knoxfield bus stop yesterday evening before it suddenly rolled forward and crashed through the wall of the salon.

Business owner Melinda Turner says her salon was full of customers but miraculously no-one was hurt.

"We heard this incredible loud crunching, and you don't even know what's going on, and then suddenly there's a bus in the middle of your salon," Ms Turner told AAP.

"One man sitting closest was pushed back in his chair but he was alright".

Bus company Ventura has been contacted for comment.
