Burning Aus flag could be illegal in Vic

Burning or defacing the Australian flag could become a criminal offence in Victoria.
Shooters and Fishers Party MP Daniel Young has introduced a bill into parliament on Thursday that wants to make it an on-the-spot offence for anyone who desecrates the flag.
"I have been approached by a number of people in the community requesting something be done to protect the Australian national flag from people who might wish to burn or deface it," Mr Young said.

The bill will be up for debate in 2016.
