Boy seriously injured after hit by boat

A boy has suffered serious cuts to his arms and legs after being run over by a motor boat on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula.

An ambulance was called to the Mount Martha Esplanade on Wednesday afternoon, and the boy was taken to Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne.

Ambulance officials would give no more details.
