Body parts at Vic tip likely mannequins

Suspected human remains spotted at a Melbourne rubbish tip were likely parts of dumped mannequins, police say.

An intense search of the Hampton Park tip was sparked on Monday by a worker who thought he saw a severed hand.

Victoria Police on Friday said they now believed the employee had confused mannequins dumped at the site with real human remains. The search has ended.
