A slice of Victorian coastline in Werribee South has undergone a massive transformation and will soon become home to Australia’s largest marina.

Boasting palm trees, boardwalks and sandy beaches, Wyndham Harbour in Werribee South has been in development for the past 13 years and is the newest marina to be built on Port Phillip Bay since the 1960s.

“The transformation is just outstanding,” project director Sonya Miller told 9NEWS.

“You would not imagine what it looked like; it was really just a dirt trail with a largely weed-infested coastline.”

The privately funded $440 million project will be the biggest marina in Australia, with 1000 berths and 615 properties upon its completion.

The city of Wyndham is one of the fastest-growing municipalities in the country, with a population of 200,000.

Apartment prices at Wyndham Harbour start from $355,000.
