Black Lives Matter to hold Melbourne rally

Thousands are expected to attend a Melbourne Black Lives Matter rally outside the State Library on Sunday.

Organisers say the rally will express solidarity with African-Americans experiencing racial injustice and also shine a light on the deaths of indigenous Australians in police custody.

Victoria Police said it was expecting a peaceful rally, and would be there in big numbers to make sure no one intent on causing violence would disrupt it.
