Axe wielding robbers target Melb jewellers

Four men armed with axes and hammers have smashed up a Melbourne jewellery store in broad daylight at a busy shopping centre.

The robbers struck JK Collections jewellery store at Waverley Gardens Shopping Centre on Tuesday afternoon, with photos on social media showing the front windows of the store smashed in.

Police say the men stormed the store armed with hammers and an axe before leaving the shopping centre in a getaway car, but they could not say how much jewellery was stolen.
