Attempts to revive man on Tas beach fail

A 66-year-man has been pulled from the water in northern Tasmania but attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.
The incident unfolded at Hawley Beach, just after 3pm on New Year's Day.
Paramedics and members of the public tried unsuccessfully to revive the man.

Police say there are no suspicious circumstances and it appears to be medically related. The coroner will investigate.
It comes as at least eight people in Australia, including six in Victoria, have drowned since Christmas eve.
