A Melbourne artist has lost years of his artwork when his home was destroyed in a fire overnight.
"The whole back room where my studio is was just ablaze. Everything is gone," Sam Bryant told Nine Network.
He told Seven he had been working on a lot of the stuff since early 2000 and had been preparing for an exhibition.

Seven firefighting crews took around 45 minutes to bring the blaze at the weatherboard home in Powlett St, Mordialloc under control late on Wednesday night.
No one was injured. Firefighters are investigating the cause of the fire, but it's not thought to be suspicious.
